COLETTE

Colette was my best friend’s mother. She was an avid quilter from a very young age. She made hundreds of them! When she passed away in 2017, I inherited her entire fabric stash. It was huge, to say the least.
All of the solids I used in Colette came from her stash, there’s even a pair of salmon pants she wore in it. I love that the negative spaces create stars and diamonds, they remind me of the firmament. Maybe she’s watching over me from up there. I can’t thank her enough and I am doing my best to pursue her passion.
